A NOTE FROM OUR PRESIDENT
The year is half over, and a lot of work has been done. Everyone was well pleased with the jobs done. THANKS! With the cost of fuel on the increase, we are going to try to schedule the projects this fall in a way that travel will be at a minimum. We hope you will be able to join the group.
Don Winship
A WORD FROM OUR TREASURER
I want to thank each of you for your response to the paying of your 2008 RVA dues. So far, we have completed work at four campgrounds: Camp Woodland Hills, St. Clair, MO, Blue Water Campground, Lexington, MI, Camp Nauvoo, and the Historic Sites at Nauvoo, IL. While at Camp Woodland Hills and Blue Water Campgrounds, we thought we were still experiencing winter with rain, cold temperatures and wind. But, that didn’t dampen the spirits of those working. With the help of all who attended, the work was completed, and we certainly can be proud of the condition of the Campgrounds when we left. Our work in Nauvoo was warmer, but we still had lots of rain. We certainly have learned to work around the weather, and amazingly, the projects get done. The Historic Sites are really a neat place to work. Not only do we restore and fix these sites that have special meaning to the beginnings of our church, we also learn a lot about the history of Nauvoo as we work on these buildings and grounds.
There are more projects this coming fall, and we want any of you who can help to do so. I know that the cost of fuel has sky-rocketed, but believe me, the reward of working with those in the RVA certainly makes it all worthwhile. Please contact Don Winship (816/305-0321) with your response to working on the fall projects. Thanks, Myron Crangle
If EVERY member comes to at least ONE project, WOW what a lot we will accomplish!
